Centerbase now supports multiple cultures and can format dates/currency based on the selected Date and Currency setting.
*Please note: This feature can only be enabled by Centerbase and should be done before a site is in production. Switching cultures post-live is not supported.
Date and Time Formatting
Once a Date and Culture has been selected by Centerbase, reloading Centerbase should display all dates formatted to match the selected culture.
These are some of the date formats used by different cultures that Centerbase supports:
• Germany : "dd.MM.yyyy"
• France : "dd/MM/yyyy"
• Ireland : "dd/MM/yyyy"
• Netherlands : "d-M-yyyy"
• Great Britain : "dd/MM/yyyy"
For example, selecting Germany as the default Date and Currency and opening the bills grid (or any other place that displays dates in Centerbase) should display dates formatted in the order "day month year".
When a culture that uses the 24-hour clock to express time is selected, all places in Centerbase that display time will use the 24-hour notation.
Most places in Centerbase also match the day, month and year names with the selected Culture.
Monday is the first day of the week according to the international standard ISO 8601, but in the US, Canada, and Japan, it's counted as the second day of the week. So based on the selected Culture, the calendars in Centerbase will either have Monday or Sunday as the first day of the week. The below picture is for German Culture.
It is important that all datetimes are stored in ISO formats in the database. If datetimes are not stored in ISO formats, it can cause the datetimes to get formatted incorrectly before getting displayed in Centerbase.
Currency Formatting
Once a Date and Culture has been selected by Centerbase, reloading Centerbase should now display all currency formatted to match the selected culture.
Currently, the amounts are only formatted to match the selected Culture, money is not being converted.
These are the currency formats for different cultures that Centerbase supports:
- Germany
- Currency Symbol : “€”
- Currency Symbol Position : "after"
- Decimal Separator : “,”
- Thousands Separator : “.”
- France
- Currency Symbol : “€”
- Currency Symbol Position : "after"
- Decimal Separator : “,”
- Thousands Separator : “ ”
- Ireland
- Currency Symbol : “€”
- Currency Symbol Position : "before"
- Decimal Separator : “.”
- Thousands Separator : “,”
- Netherlands
- Currency Symbol : “€”
- Currency Symbol Position : "before"
- Decimal Separator : “,”
- Thousands Separator : “.”
- Great Britain
- Currency Symbol : “£”
- Currency Symbol Position : "before"

- Thousands Separator : “,”
For example, this is the Account Register page with currency formatted to support German Culture.
When entering currency into input fields, you will see that the amounts will get formatted to match the selected Culture. For German Culture, you will see that the Amount is formatted with “.” as the thousands separator, and with “,” as decimal separator.
Support For Mobile App and Add-Ins
The mobile app supports multi-currency/dates. You should see all the datetimes and currency formatted based on the Culture selected.
Outlook Add-In and Word Add-In support multi-currency/dates. The Billing Entry form on both the Add-ins will display the amounts formatted based on the selected Culture.
