Users can create default billing templates and either make copies of them or edit/delete them.
In this guide, you'll learn where to view these templates and how to edit the CSHTML code of the templates.
If you are not proficient in CSHTML, please do not attempt to make edits as the likelihood that your bill templates will show an error upon creation is high. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager for assistance in having this code edited by our internal Services team.
Navigate to System Settings (click the cog in the lower hand corner of your navigation bar) > Billing > Templates.
This is where you will see all of your existing billing templates.
To edit any of your billing templates, you can either click the name of the template or click the blue clipboard icon. This will bring up the CSHTML code.
From here, you can click the green Save button on the bottom. Once you've saved your changes, you may also click the blue Copy button to duplicate the template.
If a template is protected, you will not be able to delete it without Administrative rights. You will know if a template is protected if the green arrow displays next to the Protected setting, as shown below.
You can also change the status of the template to either be active or inactive. If the template is active, it will display a check mark by the Active setting as shown above. Alternatively, you can inactive a template by clicking the check mark box once so that the box is empty, as shown below.
However, if you either have the appropriate Administrator rights or the template is not protected, you will see a Delete button at the bottom that you may also use if you wish to delete a template.
You can also delete any templates that aren't protected by navigating back to your billing templates dashboard and clicking the red trash can icon.
