Every record in Centerbase has security associated with it. For most items and records, security is set to allow everyone read/write access, but from the web version users may set up special security for individual records.
Record security in Centerbase is based on who creates the record, not the owner or anything else.
The icon in the upper right-hand corner of every record denotes the current record’s security settings.
Clicking on the lock icon will open the security dialogue for the current record. The top section allows the user to define the record’s owner and one of three basic security settings.
The Advanced Settings allow the user to select users or user groups (click the green plus to add) and give them special custom permissions. When using this function, the Simple security at the top will no longer be applicable. Each user/group is then given special permissions to the record:
