Changing Matter Folder Names After They're Generated

Sometimes a matter or client name will need to be changed due to various circumstances. In the Mapped Drive or File Explorer, however, this change will not take place, as the file has already auto-generated with the original's name. This is easily remediated with the following steps, we will use matter names as an example:

(Note: The same steps can be adapted for other things, like client name in the mapped drive.)

1.) Navigate to the matter in question

2.) Click the cog > Form Designer to open the form designer, then add the "Matter Name" field to the form.

3.) Edit or rename the matter using this field, which will reflect both in the matter name on top AND in the file server:

From there, you're all set!

EXAMPLE:

Edited the matter name by removing the name, saved, then re-added the name. The File explorer folder now reflects the correct name!
