Payment sub-types have been added to Centerbase to allow users to give payments received a sub-category. This allows firms to group their deposits without having to search the Bank Deposit dialog box for each of their transactions. Users can now filter the deposits based on the Payment Sub-Type.
Set Up
You will first need to turn on the ability to use Sub-Types. This is found in the System Settings under Billing > General, in the Payments section. We have created the setting so that only firms who use Payment Sub-Types will have the option to select and filter by these.
You can enable Sub-Types and make them required if needed.
Next, you need to set up your Payment Sub-Types. This is done in System Settings > Billing > Payment Sub-Types:
When you click “Add New Sub-Types" you will have the opportunity to add a name and description of the Sub-Type:
Once created, you can click on the name of the Sub-Type to edit the name or description. Note: All Sub-Types must have a unique name.
Use of Payment Sub-Types
When you have enabled Use Payment Sub-Types, you will now have a Sub-Type option on the Payment screen:
This has also been added to the Bank Deposit window as a filter:
Note: The filters work independently, as well as together. For example, if you want to deposit ONLY checks for the Dallas Office, you can select both the Payment Type and Sub-Type to return only payments of the type and sub-type selected.
