Centerbase comes with a workflow out-of-the-box that allows for the closure of a Matter record and the ability to re-open a Matter record once it's closed.
By default, closing a Matter sets the Active Status field to Inactive and sets the Status field to Close. Re-opening a Matter sets the Active Status field to Active and sets the Status field to Open (though the particular status may vary from firm to firm).
Closing a Matter
To close a Matter, first find the Matter record in your system. Searching the list of Matters or running a global search will pull up a list of records, and clicking on the blue text under the Name column will take you to the particular record.
Once you've found the Matter you want to close, selecting the Close Matter option from the Workflow button will close the Matter as specified above.
Reopening a Closed Matter
To reopen a closed Matter, first locate the record. The workflow automatically sets the Active Status to Inactive, so the best way to do this is to run an Advanced Search query from the Matters list.
Once you've found the record, selecting the Re-Open Matter option will re-open the Matter as specified above.
