Within the Centerbase mobile app, users can use their own CB Phone Number and create billable events for incoming/outbound calls.
- Users can make outbound calls from the Centerbase App using their assigned CB number.
- CB Numbers can be given forwarding numbers and outbound caller ID. This is controlled in the Automated Time Capture settings in System Settings.
- When the user makes a call, the recipient of the call will see the Outbound Caller ID as the number that they are receiving a call from.
- If the contact calls the CB Phone Number, the call will be forwarded to the set Forwarding Number (usually the user’s mobile) or to the Default Forwarding number.
- If a user has made an outbound call to a contact or has an active secure chat thread with that contact, incoming calls will generate billable events automatically using the last matter that the user chose when making an outbound call.
- Secure Call Log and Secure Chat Messages are new reports to track secure call/chat usage and can be filtered by date and/or sorted by timekeeper.
Secure Call in the mobile app:
- When you call a Contact in the mobile app, it will first ask you if you want the call to be a Billable Event or not.
- If you check the “Remember” box, you will not see the dialog again. If you later wish to be asked each time you make a call, you can change your settings in the Mobile Settings page.
- After the app determines if the call will be a Billable Event or not, it will ask you to choose which phone number you want to make the call with.
- If you tap “No”, the call will be made from your personal number as a standard cell phone call.
- If you tap “Yes”, the call will be made with your secure CB Phone Number.
- In the case that you have not been assigned a CB Phone Number, the call will not be placed and you will get a message to contact your admin or try your personal number instead.
- If you check the “Remember” box, you will not see the dialog again. If you later wish to be asked each time you make a call, you can change your settings in the Mobile Settings page.
Configuring phone call settings in the mobile app:
- Go to the Mobile Settings page and find the Phone Call Settings section
- You can view your assigned CB Phone Number
- “Ask which number to use”
- If this is checked, you will see the “Choose Phone Number” dialog (pictured above) each time you make a call
- If it is not checked, the “Make calls with” switch field will show up and you can select which phone number should make the call
- This setting is checked by default
- “Ask about logging call as Billable Event”
- If this is checked, you will see the “Log Call” dialog (pictured above) each time you make a call
- If it is not checked, the “Log as Billable Event” switch field will show up and you can select whether calls are always to be logged as Billable Events or not
- This setting is checked by default
- “When making billable calls with secure CB Number, always use most recent Matter”
- For example, you make a call to John Smith that is billable to Matter XYZ. The next time you make a call to John Smith, and this setting is checked, you will not be asked for which Matter you’d like to attach to the Billable Event because Matter XYZ will be used automatically.
- If this setting is not checked, every time you make a billable call, you will always be asked which Matter should be used for the Billable Event.
- This setting is not checked by default.
