This tutorial provides a step-by-step guide on creating a new client secret in the Entra Admin Center and entering it into Centerbase. It's important to note that the Secret Value will expire according to the firm's set schedule. Once a new secret value is created, please notify Centerbase Support since there is an additional step required on the Centerbase end.
The most common error encountered when the Secret Value has expired is illustrated below.
Creating a New Client Secret Value in Entra Admin Center
Step 1: Navigate to the Entra Admin Center. Follow this path: Applications > App Registrations > Centerbase > Certificates & Secrets.
Step 2: Click on "+ New client secret".
Step 3: In the 'Add a client secret' window, add a description (for instance, "Centerbase SSO") and select an expiration term under 'Expires'. It's recommended to set the Expiration date for 24 months.
Remember, when the client secret expires, it's necessary to create a new Client Secret and enter it in Centerbase. Set a reminder to do this!
Step 4: Record the "Client Secret Value" to enter into Centerbase later. You will also need to provide the ID to Centerbase support to update on Auth0. It's essential to note down the Client Value immediately as it won't be visible again. If it's not recorded, a new Client Secret will need to be created.
Entering the New Secret Value in Centerbase
Step 1: Return to Centerbase.
Step 2: Enter the new secret value. Follow this path: System Settings > System Configuration > Authentication Option > Client Secret Value.
