Once you’ve added Centerbase as an app in iManage, navigate to Centerbase>System Settings to configure your iManage settings.
Refresh Centerbase and navigate to System Settings, then click on Document Manager, and then click on iManage. You will see the following log-in screen. The iManage Administrative user must enter his/her credentials (username and password) to log in.
Enter the following info:
- Username
- Password
- Client ID (from the section above)
- Select either Cloud iManage or iManage.Work
-
- For iManage.work customers Work Server URL: Enter your iManage url (this will look something like centerbase.goimanage.com)
-
- Click Login
When the screen refreshes:
General Settings
- Check the box labeled “Enable SSO Login for iManage” to allow your users to access a matter’s iManage workspace via link
- NOTE: We recommend keeping this box unchecked if you want your users to view the iManage workspace iframed within the iManage tab in a matter.
Workspace
- Automatic Creation of Workspaces – check this box if you want Centerbase to automatically create a workspace when a new matter is created. If left unchecked, users can still manually create or sync to a workspace within the matter.
- Workspace Name – use the Centerbase default Matter naming structure or select custom to set up your own Workspace naming convention.
- Template - Assign a field that corresponds with your template list (often Practice Area or Area of Law)
-
- We recommend Practice Area, but the names of the fields must identically match the names of the Templates in iManage.
- If the fields are not identical, add “iManage Templates” to your matter layout and include all applicable template names (this can be done in the admin tool).
-
- Owner – select who should be assigned as owner of new workspaces.
- Library – select from the appropriate library in the dropdown (there is typically only one library per account).
Custom iManage Fields
Assign Centerbase data to iManage Custom fields:
- These should be selected for any Centerbase data that should be included when creating workspaces (such as pulling in Client numbers and Matter numbers)
- Though not required, the Alias1 and Custom1 and Alias2 and Custom2 are typically configured as follows:
-
- Alias 1: Client Number | Custom 1: Client Name
- Alias 2: Matter Number | Custom 2: Matter Short Description;
- Alias and Custom 3-12: typically include fields like Responsible Attorney, Paralegal, Legal Assistant, etc.
-
- (If necessary) Using the Centerbase admin tool, configure any Alias fields and Template fields, and assign in System Settings.
- If a firm has never used iManage, you can assign Alias and Custom to be the same field
- If a firm has used iManage, you need to check their database to see how the Alias field is entered
(Optional) Add iManage WorkspaceID to the Matter Layout.
Click Save.
Once saved, your users will be able to access an iManage tab within each Matter in their Centerbase account.
