How to Add a Blog to Your Site

First, you will log in to your Site Builder, click on the Blogs button on the panel on the left side.

Once that tab opens, click on the blog index page you would like to add your blog. Typically it is just titled ‘Blog’.

Note: if you do not already have a Blog index page on your site you will need to create one before you can add an individual blog page. You will do this by clicking the 'Create New Blog' button on the Blogs page. 

You create the Blog Index page by following the example below.

To add a new individual blog page, click “Create Blog Post”.

You will need to fill in the “Menu Title” for the blog post and the “Search Engine Page Title”. The URL slug will automatically populate so you don’t need to worry about filling that box. 

Note: The “Search Engine Page Title” is the same as the menu title. 

Once the required fields are filled out, click the 'Create Blog Post' button at the bottom. You will be redirected to the main Blog page in Site Editor. You will need to hover over the title of the page you created in the previous step and click the pencil icon to the left of the title. 

You will be directed to your new blank blog page. You will fill out the text boxes labeled below: 

Once you have all of your content added, click the settings cog next to the 'Publish Page' button

The Page Settings window will open to the right. You will need to select a Publish Date. The excerpt is what will appear on the Blog index page as a quick attention grabber for someone visiting your site. Then you will click the 'Save Settings' button at the bottom. 

Tip: Typically we use the first 1-2 sentences of the blog content as the Excerpt.

Once you have completed the above steps you can click the 'Publish Page' button at the top right.
