There are several ways to void a Trust check.
If the Trust check isn't reconciled, isn't included on a Posted Bill, or wasn't created outside of the Accounting Period, then the regular Void button can be used to void the Trust check.
If a Trust check is included on a Posted Bill but isn't reconciled or created outside of the Accounting Period, it can be voided by un-posting the bill in question and using the Void Button.
If it's unclear if the Trust check is included on a posted bill, attempt to void it using the Void Button.
Error message: ERROR: There was a problem editing the trust transaction. The Trust Transaction is posted and cannot be edited.
If this error message is received, the check has been included on a Posted Bill.
Otherwise, the best way to void the Trust check is to create a Trust Deposit for the same amount as the check. That will effectively void the check.
The deposit can be created either from the Trust Ledger or the Matter itself. To create a Trust Deposit from the Trust Ledger, navigate to it from the Navigation Bar. Select the Deposit Funds button in the top right corner and enter the details before saving.
To create a Trust Deposit from the Matter, select Deposit to Trust or Retainer from the Matter Actions button and enter the details before saving.
