Centerbase now allows Originator share percentages to differ based on Partner or Non/Partner status on the timekeeper
Origination Settings
- Origination percent is now set per timekeeper in the Production grid
- Any matter that had origination setup the old way has automatically been migrated
- Where the old origination percentages had to add up to the total origination percent, now they must add up to 100.
- To edit the origination percent for the timekeeper, click on the Originator cell in the Production grid.
- Editing “Default Origination Percent” overrides all Originator cells in the Production grid
- If you add a new timekeeper to the Production grid, they will start with the Default Origination Percent.
Reporting
- An individual originator’s share is now a proportion of the total compensation originators get for a certain timekeeper’s work.
- You will no longer see a one-to-one with the originator percentage and the percentage that displays on reports like the Production & Origination report and the Origination and Production Compensation report.
- Example: We have these originators on a matter:
Originator Name |
Percentage |
Adamo Bachellier |
63.83 |
Lyndel Lage |
36.17 |
And this Production grid:
Name |
Timekeepers % |
Billing Partners % |
Originator % |
Firm % |
Associates |
21 |
49 |
18.227 |
11.773 |
Partners |
17 |
32 |
19.523 |
31.477 |
- For any work done by an Associate, Adamo Bachellier’s actual origination percentage is 11.63%, which is his originator percentage (63.83) times the total origination percent for Associates (18.227).
- Adamo Bachellier’s actual origination percentage for work done by Partners is 12.46%.
- Seen on the Production & Origination Report:
- Lyndel Lage’s partner percentage is 7.06% (36.17 * 19.523) and her associate percentage is 6.59% (36.17 * 18.227)
