We are excited to announce the new PDF generation method we have added to Centerbase. This relates to generating bill and matter statement PDFs, both individually and in bulk. The purpose of this update was to improve performance during busy billing weeks and improve the efficiency of the user(s) generating the bills.
Previously when generating PDF bills in bulk, the user would select the bills to be generated and wait until the PDF generation was complete before moving on to the next group of bills or next task. With this new functionality, the PDFs will be generated on their own special server, allowing the user to batch groups of bills, by responsible attorney for example, then “fire and forget”.
When generating the PDFs, the user will be notified that the request was received:
The user will be notified via the notification bell in the top right of the centerbase screen when the generation is complete:
The user will also be notified in a popup message that allows the user to simply click to download:
Note: Please enable pop ups for Centerbase to ensure you are seeing the blue banner notification.
Additionally, each firm’s pdfs are siloed into their own section of the server, to ensure that there is no chance of a breech in confidentiality.
While the pdfs are generating, the user can go on about their work in Centerbase, rather than waiting for the PDFs to load. Moving PDF generation off the production server has also led to an up to 10x speed improvement.
We have also changed the PDF naming convention to make it easier to locate specific bills, by adding the matter number and name, along with the bill number and a time stamp. When generating batches of PDFs, the username of the user who generated them will also be included.
