Hello Centerbase Family!

What a year 2023 has been! We’ve spent the year building and delivering a ton of feature enhancements and bug fixes for you, and as we wrap up 2023 it’s worth letting you that 2024 is going to be the biggest and best year for Centerbase yet—we can’t wait to show you what’s been in the works!  Keep an eye on your Pendo notifications and emails going forward to see how we’re revolutionizing your experience.  

In the meantime, we’re happy to wrap up the year with one final release, Centerbase 9.8. 

The highlights of this release are a whole host of bug fixes and support for additional LEDES billing templates.  Take a look at the release notes below and let us know what you think!

Billing & Accounting

• Users can now attach documents to bank deposits.
• Returned Profit & Loss report to former state of Other Income and Other Expense separated from Operating Income, and fixed a bug where Other Income and Other Expense were not calculating into the Net Income correctly.
• Fixed an issue where assigned expenses on Vendor Bills were not reporting on Profitability Expense Report.
• Fixed a bug where Categories assigned on Vendor Bills were not properly reporting on the Category P&L Report.
• A new feature is added so that LEDES XML 2.0 e-billing users who need EIN + Zip Code in their Client ID will have an additional template for that purpose.
• A new feature is added so that LEDES 1998B e-billing users who need EIN + Zip Code in their Client ID will have an additional template for that purpose.
• For e-billing users in states that tax services, a new setting is added to turn on a LEDES 1998B template that includes an expense line for tax purposes.
• For e-billing users in states that tax services, a new setting is added to turn on a LEDES 1998B template that includes an expense line for tax purposes.
• We have added a new e-billing format, LEDES XML 2.0.
• We have added a new e-billing format, LEDES XML 2000.
• Fixed an issue where manual allocations would sometimes not save.
• Fixed an issue where "Show Markup" would turn off intermittently. Also, we now show the approval chain even when show markup is off and when there have yet to be any approvers.
• Fixed a bug causing both consolidated bills and the bills making up the consolidated bill to show on the pre-bills list, inflating the pre-billing balance.

Calendar

• Fixed an issue where updates to O365-synced activities would send invite update emails even when “Only Save Changes to Centerbase” was checks in the confirmation dialog.
• Resolved an issue where occurrences of recurring activities could not be deleted.
• Resolved an issue where the scheduling for conflict check was showing unavailability after the first instance of a recurring all-day event was deleted.

Conflict Check

• Usage of certain words such as "the," "at, and "and" no longer prevent results from being provided in Conflict Check.

Document Management

• Users can now seamlessly log into iManage if SSO is enabled.
• Admins can turn off the automatic creation of workspaces when iManage is connected.
• Fixed an issue where users receive an error when trying to add a document to a matter with an apostrophe in the name.

Payments

• Users can now pause/start automatic deposit disbursements from within the Centerbase Platform instead of having to use the portal. This will help firms control and align their reconciliation better with the Centerbase accounting records.

Performance

• There is now a system setting to control posted bills' ability to run workflows. This feature can be enabled or disabled by navigating to System Configuration > Advanced Billing > Advanced Bill Configuration and making the selection for the setting "Run Workflows After Posting".

Security

• We have added the ability to update the security on existing billing entries while saving user profiles when the "Use Timekeeper security settings?" is turned on.

Timesheets

• Restored the ability to start a new timer without having to stop the active timer.
• Fixed an issue where multiple 'stay or discard' dialogs could pop up for the same action.
• Fixed an issue where the timesheet would not display correctly on Safari.
